  Write about a time when you did something out of the norm. What was it and how did others react?  Prompt Response: Probably  just any time I do public speaking. The reactions of the people depend on whether I am actually successful or if I fail. I have never been good at it at all. I hate it knowing I can mess up in front of people. If I can do it, good claps and congrats. If I fail to speak, it's just awkward. This is a time I've done something out of the norm Summary: Any time I do public speaking well, it's out of the norm Reflection:  learned about stereotypes

  Judith Ortiz Cofer says,  “The Island travels with you.”  What part of your culture, family, or identity do you feel “travels” with you everywhere you go? Prompt Response:  I feel as an American Italian, the culture that really goes with us everywhere is food and cars. Food is a definite thing that follows Italians tons of pizza restaurants, even big chains, family chains, etc. Pizza and spaghetti are two of the most eaten and loved foods across the globe. Then there are the Italian cars, Fiats, Ferraris, Lamborghinis. Then there is my personal favorite, Lancia, for their rally cars. Italian culture is all of America in many ways, and these are just a few small examples of it Summary: Italian culture is all over America, the East and the West coasts. Reflection:  I learned about how smartphones collect data during the common lits.

  Prompt: Write about an experience when someone assumed something about you because of a stereotype. What was the situation, and what did you do? Prompt Response:  Probably when someone assumed I was racist because I am white. I was arguing with somebody about politics. So I told them I wasn't, and why would I think that? They had no rebuttal; they only said that because of a stereotype. Just more proof that stereotyping is bad Summary: All stereotypes are bad, no matter if they are good or bad Reflection:  I learned about bad stereotypes

  Prompt: Describe something you will never fully understand. Prompt Response: something ill nevrr fully unerstand is haing someone because of there race. Its so honestly stupid that racism is even a thing we as a people do beacuse we are all humans. if you reallly must hate hate on someone because of there actions. We should view people as they are not race. This is something ill never fully understamt Summary: i wrote on why ill never uderstand racism Reflection:   i learned about others cultures

  Prompt: Write about something that you wish you had more of.  Prompt Response:  I probably wish I had more money in my life. I could use this to pay for college tuition and more schooling in the future. I could use it to buy stuff for my hobbies, like more paint, skate stuff, etc. I could pay my parents rent, buy more food, and many other things. Money can get people many things, and these things I listed would be what I buy. Summary: what I wish I had more of and what I would do with it. Reflection:  I learned about different cultures today.

  Prompt: What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work. Prompt Response:   I have two things I have created that I think are the most creative things I've made. First, I'll start off with my skateboard I have made. I made it by hand, buying parts and putting it together. Second would be all my Warhammer combined because I put a lot of work into that hobby. I have to primer and build the models, then paint all of them. They vary the size, some infantry models vs vehicles. I do a lot of creative things in my free time. These are just the things I believe are my best works. Summary: I am A very creative person, and I do a lot of art. Reflection:  I learned about different cultures.

Prompt Response:   We as humans have many questions about life, and here's mine. First, is there real, actual life beyond the stars, and as humans, will we ever meet or live among them? Second, will all nations on earth ever get along and be at peace with each other and unite under one? These are just a few questions I have about life. Summary: We as humans have many questions about life Reflection: I learned about multicultural lit.

  Prompt: Describe a time when you felt completely lost.  Prompt Response:  I have two times in my life when I felt lost. Once, I had a bad accident, and I didn't know if I would ever be able to effectively use my right thumb. This had me lost because I didn't know if I could write or do work, etc. This affected my grades because I couldn't type write, etc, and the work would just pile and pile and pile. The teachers tried their best to help, but grades are grades, and they couldn't really do much. In this period of my life, I felt lost, but I was able to escape it and be better. Summary: I presented my mask Reflection:   I feel good. I don't exactly like presenting, but it's life, and it must be done.

Prompt:  Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples. Prompt Response:  I have adapted to the multicultural class pretty well. I understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. I feel one strength being turning in all my work on time. I feel one challenge I'll have with this class is doing all of the blogs, but I'll get them done nonetheless. I will continue to make progress as the year goes on. Summary: This class will be challenging, but I'll make progress and get better throughout the year Reflection:  I learned about more people's cultures and lives.

  Prompt:  Describe how gender roles or patriarchy influence your identity? Prompt Response:  Gener roles affect my identity in some ways. I don't really do things that a male wouldn't do; gender roles have influenced me to do this. I like things like cars, fishing, etc, gender roles mostly influenced this. Gender rolls affect all people and what they think how they act etc. Gender rolls can be both be okay and bad at the same time. Summary: gender rolls affect you more than you think Reflection:  i learned about gender rolls

  Prompt:  Describe a meaningful family tradition unique to your culture and explain how it mirrors or contrasts with the cultural identity themes of expectations and roles in "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid. Prompt Response:   My family does many unique traditions. My family teaches you too cook different meals like italian spaghetti and lasania. Also, activitys like fishing etc. This mirrors "girl" because in that story the mother teaches  the daugther what to do with cooking and how to do it. Many people have cultures alike and different. Summary: many cutures can be alike and very different. Reflection:  I learned about differnet cultures.

My cultural heritage teaches me to always be respectful. Don't talk to people on drugs or shady people. My culture teaches me to set up dinner like setting up the table. Also, teach me to always know how to fix something if it is broken and never to give up on anything. Culture will always be a part of people and will shape their expectations for life.
